Dr. Denise A. Hammon, president of Marian Court College, will serve as the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Swampscott?s meeting on Feb. 20 at noon at Red Rock Bistro.
Hammon was appointed the college?s fourth president this year. She had been serving as interim president since August 2012. Moving forward, Hammon said she will focus on expanding the college?s academic offerings, while maintaining Marian Court?s high retention and graduation rate and diverse student body.
?I am thrilled to have the opportunity to speak at the Rotary Club?s meeting,? said Hammon. ?Their theme this year is ?peace through service,? which parallels nicely with the Mercy core values our college was founded on ? justice, truth, integrity and service to others.?
Marian Court is a private, four-year, liberal arts college that attracts students mostly from the North Shore. The college was founded in 1964 by the Sisters of Mercy.
