James William "Bill" Hyatt, 80, of Punta Gorda, formerly of Norwalk, CT passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011. He was the son of James and Mary (Carroll) Hyatt, born on January 29, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, NY. He was a graduate of the Cardinal Farley Military Academy and the American Institute of Banking in New York City. Bill was the VP of Consumer Lending at Gateway Bank in Norwalk and the Milford Bank. He was a former member of Shore and Country Club, Norwalk, CT. He was a active member Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club, Punta Gorda Boat Club and the Elks Lodge #2606 in Punta Gorda. Bill will be greatly missed by his wife of 27 years, Carol; daughter; Catherine Hyatt of Sarasota, FL; sons, James W. (Rita) Hyatt of Waterford, CT and Kenneth (Michelle) Hyatt of Trumbull, CT; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and Carol's children, Kathleen Bresnan of NYC, Neil (Karen) Bresnan of San Diego, CA, Lauren (Andrew) Brunk of Asheville, NC and Carol's five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Dorothy Stiehl. A memorial mass will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda.
