I?ve been a busy little bee, planning events as a part of my Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year fundraising campaign which I?m doing in memory of Curt Valent, and in honor of Daniel & Gracie, two local kids who survived leukemia!
A little act of charity can go a long way ? so mark your calendars for these fun events to benefit the LLS.
Before you think of an excuse not to, think about this:
Your chances of developing cancer are about 1 in 3, if not greater.
Every?4 minutes someone new is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Every 10 minutes someone dies.
You can help put an end to this by doing some good and giving to the LLS who helps fund groundbreaking research to treat leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers, and even other conditions!
I hope to see you at one of these awesome events ? all for such a great cause!
Send a Smile!? Greeting Card Fundraiser for Childhood Cancer Patients
Date:?Wedneday, April 4, 2012? from?4:00 PM-9:00 PM at the Baker Leadership Get Involved! Service Summit
(Please note that for this one, you do not have to attend the Service Summit event to take part in this greeting card fundraiser. While I do recommend going just because it is a fantastic evening, I understand that not everyone can make it. So, if you can?t, at any time you can hand-make a get-well card for a cancer patient and send it to me via ?snail mail? with a monetary donation of your choice. I will then add it to the rest of the cards to be delivered and will share photos with all of you afterwards! I plan on delivering the greeting cards on April 27th, 2012, and will share photos with you all!
